Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge, 436 pages.
She was greedy. She deserved to die. Yet, she wanted to live. She was falling in love. Only, she didn’t know it. Rachelle is a good fighter. One day, without knowing who he was, Rachelle saved the king’s son, Armand. The king orders Rachelle to guard Armand. This should have been an honor to Rachelle, but she hated Armand. Armand was nothing but a liar, who fools the kingdom into thinking he was a saint. Rachelle has better things to do with her time. She has to save her realm from eternal darkness. Rachelle makes Armand help her find Joyeuse, the sword that can save her world from everlasting darkness. Together they learn secrets that only a few people know, and they become allies. Rosamund Hodge enjoys Greek Mythology and Hello Kitty. She knew that she wanted to be a writer just to prove her brother wrong. Her brother started a writing club with his friends when Ms. Hodge was 8, and didn’t let Hodge join the club since she was “only eight”. After that she solemnly swore that she would become a writer to make him sorry. Rosamund Hodge loves a little stuff in T. S. Eliot’s poetry. She got a B.A at the University of Dallas. She wrote her first book with HarperCollins. She wrote 3 books: Cruel Beauty, Crimson Bound, and Gilded Ashes. She has two books coming out in the next two years. I would definitely rate this book a 4.5/5 stars. I totally think that the book could be worth 5 stars, but I expected more after reading Cruel Beauty. I thought the story would be more like a fantasy. I also thought that it would be more obvious that it was based off of “Little Red Riding Hood”. The author did a fantastic job using descriptive vocabulary. Crimson Bound has all the genres that I like in my books: action, drama, romance, mystery, and fantasy. |
I really liked this book. It was a lot like Cruel Beauty. My favorite part in this book is where Rachelle fights Armand. I feel that doing this review helped me reflect on the book more. It helped me summarize the book in a few words. I also think that it helped me with biographies.

Quarter 4
I chose this piece because I really think that I did well researching Queen Elizabeth i. I am most proud of my "Greatest Achievement" area because I did more than what was required. I also think that I could have done better by putting in more detail. I can improve my research by putting in more citations, as well as primary sources. Overall, I think that I went beyond the expectations, but that may not be true, I think this because I did over 2 facts for each category.

Reflection
I chose to put this piece on my ePortfolio because Divergent is one of my favorite books. I feel like I gave a detailed explanation. I think that I can work on the fact that my summary was so big. I also thought that my reflection was related to what we were learning in class. I think that doing this review helped me learn more about reflecting on a character's personality. Note that I got my pictures online. Reflection for Quarter 3: I chose this piece because we spent a lot of time on GMOs this quarter, and I thought that it would be important to include atleast one piece that has to do with GMOs. I enjoyed finding out about all the harm GMOs do, as well as how they help the civilization. I also enjoyed being part of the debate. Doing all of my notes helped me plan my actual debate. I think that I could improve by including more facts and citations for all of the claims. |
